In 1986 after completing my BA and BCOMM at the University of Saskatchewan I passed on several job offers to begin a career with Studio West. The company ran a recording studio near Pike Lake. My job was meet with prospective clients and ask for a deposit to write and produce an original jingle campaign.
I would then write, sing and or co-produce the campaign with Sheldon Corbett, Glen Stace or Brian Plummer. Studios West’s owner Wayne Wilkins helped me develop my sales and marketing skills. The first campaign I wrote and sang was "STEELCRAFT DOORS" which still on the air today. At Studio West we produced some great campaigns – and one year produced over 50. These were sold from Manitoba to British Columbia .
I worked with Studio West until October 1989 when I started with Ralwco radio. While working as a radio advertising salesman I continued to produce campaigns and still get contracted today to produce jingles and corporate songs. Some of my projects include:
- "Action Office Interiors – The Office Furnishings People"
- "When you’re game for fun its Ruckers!"
- "Here’s a Neil Kramer Auction you won’t want to miss!"
- "Steelcraft Door – We offer More!"
- "SMP – Silverado City"
- "Catch a Cavalier at SMP"
- " 1-888- Wins Bins" (Aberdeen Hopper Bin Lotto)
- " Bring It On Home – SMP"
- " Battleford Furniture – Where the Difference is Worth the Drive!"
If you’re looking for an award winning jingle or creative campaign that will sell your stuff give me a call! “I love jingles – it’s a challenge making magic in 30 seconds”
